Hi Spirits : The Beers : German Beers : Speciality
The smoky flavour is achieved by exposing the malt to the intense, aromatic smoke of burning beech-wood logs at the Schlenkerla-maltings. After mixing it with premium-class hops in the brew, it matures in 700 year old cellars. A rare and classic stylegreat with a fine cheese.
If they call Warsteiner wobbly then perhaps this should be knockout!
With an irresistible, flowery hop bitterness that sets it apart from all others, Mönchshof Schwarzbier is relatively light in body - but bursting with character. Its dark, roasted, slightly chocolatey and warming palate is astounding for such a refreshing and drinkable beer.
A popular style in Germany and the Czech Republic. Dark malts are used in the brewing resulting in rich, nutty flavours.
