Hi Spirits : The Whiskys : Douglas Laing & Co : Provenance
Distilled Summer 1996.Bottled Summer 2006.Clean, with freshly cut damp grass, perfumed characteristics and cereal on the nose. The body is mid-weighted and the palate subtle and light with a sweet and fruity tendency. The finish is herbal, attractvely light, complex and ends dry
(‘Boon-a-havn’) is one of Islay’s gentle malts and quietly enjoying its status as a malt to be ‘discovered’.Fresh clean and oceanic on the nose. Light body with salt and spice. Finish salt pepper and spice trailing smoke behind
The Laphroaig single malt is perhaps the most well-known of all the Islay whiskies.Immediately oceanic and Maritime on the nose. Islay style it is massively tarry with peat smoke cinders and bonfire ash all evident.
Distilled spring 1996.Bottled Autumn 2007.Initially what we have here is a great round honey and barley character. On the nose it is dry and grassy. The palate is light delicate and clean initially, warming as it lingers to something more seetly tofee'd and fruited-then the finish continues sweet, toasted and spicy.
Provenance Matured in sherry cask.Distilled Winter 1995.Bottled Summer 2007.Immediately heady and rich, this Mortlach warms to reveal an oily, spicy, chewy and toffee'd nose. The mouth-coatingly rich palate replicates the nose af toffee and spice with addedhints of citric and late smoke.
The Final Vintage.Great Value!Nose grassy and herbal, palate fresh seaweed, finish powerful dry smokiness.
